Areti (Greek: Αρετή) is a community located about 500 m north of GR-9/E55 at the community hall and a square (plateia) in the municipality of Lechaina and the prefecture of Ilia.

[edit] About the village
Areti has a small school, a church and a (plateia). It has a train station with no building connecting the railway line with Patras - Kato Achaia - Lechaina - Amaliada - Pyrgos. Residential houses are within the road connecting the highway and the Kotychi lagoon. Forests are founded in the west along with the small creek, grasslands within the Kotychi area, farmlands in the east and south and hills to its southeast. Its length is approximately 1.5 km from northwest to southeast and 200 to 300 m from southwest to northeast. Its main production are fruits and vegetables along with olives and a few cattle.
The community includes the Kotychi lagoon is north of the village.
An archaeological site is located near Areti. Its name is Myrsini. It was known as Myrsinus during Homeric times and Myrtunitum in later times. Phone towers in Kourtesi are founded east of Areti at the communal boundary along with its municipal boundary with Vouprasias.
