Areca Technology Corporation is a company based in Taipei, Taiwan. They manufacture RAID controllers. Areca developed their own custom ASIC, a RAID 6 engine for use on their own controllers. However, recent generations of products have abandoned this custom ASIC in favor of Intel's IOP processors for RAID functionalities. Areca's products include DAS, NAS, and SAN controllers. All PCI, SCSI, and Fibre Channel disk array controllers support RAID levels 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD.
