Area code 919
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Area code 919 is a telephone area code serving the U.S. state of North Carolina. It covers Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Oxford and other areas of north central North Carolina.
The area code permits 7 or 10 digit dialing for calls within the area code.
The area code was slated for an overlay with area code 984 in 2001, but the overlay was deferred in October, 2001 when the supply of numbers was deemed sufficient for the near term.[1]
