I have been blocked for no reason
Check my edit history, I have not done any vandalism. User:Cryptic seems to have made a mistake. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 03:04, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- You have not been blocked, the IP 74.14.32.156 has been blocked. Are you that IP now, that would explain why it is effecting you. Does your ISP change your IP often? HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 03:09, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
I switched the block to anon only, it should work now, let me know here if it does not. HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 03:14, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
I am unable to follow the procedure, could you have the 2 Articles added to the topic page for Michigan State, The Articles removed are sparty and John C. Holmes. Thanks for your help. Buy the way what happend to Wikipedia being a Free encyclopedia that any one can edit? I did not Vandlize the page I made it better, so what is the problem? The History of the page can be used to look at any changes, what makes this so different? I do not think I should have to jump through Hoops for adding 2 pages the the Michigan state section. Your Wiktionary entry last November re "Zombie"
Hello Arctic.gnome -- Like you I sometimes add Canadianisms to Wiktionary. I came across your entry under "zombie" and have put a request-for-verification tag on it, with discussion here:
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Requests_for_verification#zombie
I'm not 100% sure, but I have my doubts that this usage can be counted as standard English (I think it revolved around one insult) or Canadian English. More like anti-Canadian English. But I'd be interested to hear of any sources you have. Respectfully. -- WikiPedant 15:09, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Michigan State University FA topics
Why can I not cheery pick the best Articles MSU has to offer? The rules say nothing about this.
Featured topic criteria 1. The articles should have a clear similarity with each other, should be in the same category, and should be grouped under one collective name that does not arbitrarily exclude items. 2. The topic should have a lead article, which introduces and summarises the topic. 3. There must be at least three separate articles. 4. All articles in the series should be linked together, preferably using a template. 5. There should be no obvious gap (missing or stub article) in the topic. 6. Each article should be of high quality, including references. At least several articles should be featured class, and the remainder must be all Good Articles or A class. When achieving such status is impossible due to limited subject matter, each item will be individually audited for quality.

Speedy deletion of Just deserts
A tag has been placed on Just deserts, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 02:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'd never even heard of a soft redirect before. Hey, I learned something new tonight! I'll remove my speedy tag. Realkyhick 03:16, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

level 4 for anons
The Virginia Tech shootings article has been getting a lot of drive-by vandalism since it was created, because it's such a high profile news item. But because it's a high profile article, if a new reader comes here and reads vandalism on the article, they usually get upset and go to the talk page to post something along the lines of "the article says [insert completely implausible fact or obvious vandalism]! How could you be so disrespectful of the victims?" or something. The article has been semi-protected at different points, but because it's linked from the main page we don't want to leave it semi-protected for too long. So I and some other editors have been taking a rather aggressive stance toward any vandalism to the article.
This is somewhat of an unusual situation. Some other reasons you might want to give a level 4 immediate warning would be a returning vandal using a dynamic IP address or a new account, or the inclusion of someone's personal information (like a phone number or email address). In that case, also contact someone through WP:RFO so the edit can be oversighted. Natalie 04:31, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
I have been autoblocked yet again
I fail to see how it helps Wikipedia to block everyone in a building because that building has one vandal in it. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 22:01, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

- If it's free I agree that it would be the better image to use. However, the image description page says that it is under fair use, so if it is actually free you should change the licencing info or we'll keep getting in trouble for it. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 15:31, 19 April 2007 (UTC) talk moved to other user's talk page

Okay, this is getting silly
I spent all morning patrolling the recent changes for vandals and now I have to defend myself again? There is a serious flaw with the admin's blocking system. Stoopid Monkey Logos
As you are probably aware, the Stoop!d Monkey page was the subject of an AfD and the result was, of course, "Keep". Currently, the logos are a point of contention with myself saying that they were part of the "Keep", while User:Calton saying they were to be dropped and the article was to remain.
I asked the admin who closed the AfD his opinion and he replied, "I just said the article was to be kept, I don't know about the logos". There wasn't a decision given on the logos and in the AfD only 3 users said the logos should go, only 1 said keep the article, lose the logos.
I am not sure how to handle this, but since the admin who closed the AfD made no decision and the AfD wasn't about the logos in the first place (and the majority said to keep the logos if you want to be picky about it, as far as I can tell).
This wasn't an issue from April 16th (immediately after the AfD) to May 3rd when User:Calton realized that I was blocked for 48hours (not related to this) and I couldn't revert his changes. User:Calton had no interest and made no changes on the page itself or the talk page during that time. So, to me, his initial revert on May 3rd was done because of my block.
I have asked two admins (in case one is offline) to revert his changes and put a block on the page until this can be worked out. I am also asking you, since you contributed to the AfD, what your opinion is on just the logos themselves. I appericate you input one way or the other. Thanks...SVRTVDude (VT)

You've tagged a number of images as © Government of Saskatchewan without providing a real source
© Government of Saskatchewan is not a source - it's a claim of copyright that is impossible to verify. Please provide a detailed source -either a URL or the book, magazine, leaflet that the images were scanned from. Additionally the image template that they are tagged under requires a detailed fair use rationale for each use. Megapixie 06:54, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Arctic.gnome. Thanks for your work in the above mentioned images. In the few images I checked, the source info you added is far much better now. Good work.
- But if you could, try to add a more specific fair use rationale for those images. The rationales you created only address the "replaceability" criterion. You should also explain what the image is needed for (it's purpose), and then explain why it's irreplaceable in that purpose. And make sure to do it in a per-article base. The template {{non-free media rationale}}, although not obligatory, may be very helpful in this task. Let me know if I can be of any help. Best regards, --Abu badali (talk) 17:25, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
-
- Since you dislike template messages... this image also lacks source: Image:Harry Nixon.jpg. By the way, did you had the time to write proper fair use rationales for those images? Best regards, --Abu badali (talk) 21:09, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
New Featured Topic Viability query
I am wondering whether Timothy Blackstone, Blackstone Library, and Blackstone Hotel would be considered a complete WP:FT or whether adding Merle Reskin Theatre formerly (Blackstone Theatre) would be necessary and sufficient? - If I get all four GAed I will give it a shot (Blackstone Library passed today). It is the closest I will get to a GA with articles I have worked on. I suppose the bio would be the lead article if I were to do so. Would you agree that is my best shot. TonyTheTiger (talk/cont/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 17:22, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

- Actually, the topic could be Timothy Blackstone, institutions he founded (Union Stock Yards), institutions he funded (Blackstone Library), and other institutions named after him (Blackstone Hotel and soon to be GAC Merle Reskin Theatre, formerly Blackstone Theatre). - An alternate is a Chicago Skyscrapers topic with Chicago Board of Trade Building, Chicago Spire, Joffrey Tower, 108 North State Street, Marquette Building (Chicago), AT&T Corporate Center and Blackstone Hotel. My questions with this topic is that there is no obvious lead article and the topic may be too broad and omits some important skyscrapers. I could narrow the topic by using only Future Chicago Skyscapers Chicago Spire, Joffrey Tower, 108 North State Street, but this topic will only be applicable until the buildings are complete. Your block of IP 204.174.188.9
Hi, I'm new to this whole anmin thing, so I was wondering if you could explain to me why you gave IP 204.174.188.9 a six month block. I thought that first blocks should be around 24 hours; and for school-owned IPs like that one, I've only been giving 3 hour blocks because by then the students who were causing the problems would have gone off to another class. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 17:20, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- When you've been around here as long enough as I have, trust me when I say 3 hour blocks for K-12 educational IP addresses is tantamount to playing Whac-A-Mole. The whole point of a long term {{schoolblock}} is to stop the same students causally vandalizing Wikipedia again and again the next day or the next week during the same classes over and over again whenever they feel bored. If someone is serious about contributing to Wikipedia, they can go through the trouble of creating an account at home or emailing unblock-en-l (which you should consider joining) and asking for one. One other thing is that if you block a school long enough, teachers and staff eventually find out about the vandalism problem from their school and sometimes offer to deal with the problem themselves once unblocked. -- Netsnipe ► 17:35, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
FTC
What's this "FTC failed" thing? Does one enter a topic? Where? Were the talk pages notified of candidacy? As someone who edits some of the British kings and queens articles, my radar failed me on this one. Could you explain, and tell me where I can find the criteria, submission and assessment processes? qp10qp 16:17, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. yes, it didn't have a snowball's chance. Even so, notification to talk pages would potentially have brought a very large number of editors into play. "Fail" is a tough word to cope with on so many watchlisted articles at once. qp10qp 16:52, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Don Getty.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Don Getty.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:10, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Dates in Harry Potter
I agree with you that the dates seem odd. However, here is the thinking on the accuracy of the dates. The only real year given is Nearly Headless Nick's deathday: Oct 31, 1492. In the Chamber of Secrets, he invites Harry to his 500th deathday celebration - which makes the year they are in 1992 (to 1993). Ccrashh 14:22, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Party Colours
What is 3RR and why has Bearcat threatened to have me edit blocked? Schoeppe 15:30, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
What is the general consensus of the community? You and Bearcat are the only people with objections to my edits. Your earlier argument about legal entities wasn't correct. Bearcat misrepresented what I was trying to do with the colours. I still don't see how having the new CPC given a colour that is distinct from all previous Tory parties in Canada as accurate. My last changes merely matched the old CPC with the new. But Bearcat accused me of favouring with the Progressive Conservatives over the Canadian Alliance. Who is the arbiter of such matters? British Monarchy
Artic.gnome: given your participation in the discussion at Talk:Monarchy in Canada regarding the separation of the Crown, you may want to offer your opinions at Talk:British monarchy#Personal union?, wherein two users are pushing the insertion of an edit that claims Canada and the other non-UK realms are under the sovereignty of the British Monarch. Cheers. --G2bambino 03:01, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Just to make myself clear...
Of course it was a rhetorical question when I wrote "if it isn't a kingdom (small "k"), how come the Queen's website calls it a kingdom". Wasn't that clear? I understand fully that Canada is a kingdom. I find that that derives quite logically from the word kingdom itself and the definition of said word. Blur4760 22:30, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi. You've tagged an image in Culture of Canada to announce that it is up for deletion, but in doing so you messed up the code for image size and made the image giant. I'm having another go at a one-thing-at-a-time approach to editing the lead, beginning with whether or not the first paragraph should be exclusively geographic. Please look over how I've shown the views given so far, at the talkpage and ensure that yours is accurately shown by my treatment. Thanks. The goal, of course, is a definite result to build upon.

Canadian Coat of Arms
Hello Artic.gnome, I was wondering if you could help in regards to restoring a deleted image so that the copyright notice can be retrieved for a new version of the same image. User:Zscout370 create an svg version of the Canadian Coat of Arms Image:Coat of arms of Canada.svg from the png version Image:Bigcancoat.png, but as opposed to the copyright info that was on that page, he placed it under public domain, which I believe is a copyright violation, since it's like reproducting the NHL log and releasing under a different license (which is still a copyright violation) of the NHLs copyrights.
User:Cyde has since deleted the original image, stating that a free image now exists, and when I originally asked him about it, he just ignored me, and when I asked him to just restore the original image so that the copyright info can be moved, he also ignored the request. Change to lead on Canada page
I actually tried to make a similar edit that was reverted, so I know that there are other editors who would oppose your edit. I wasn't aware that it had been discussed since then. For the record, I actually agree with the change, and would support it in a discussion.
However, I think there is a more important issue here. I'm involved in several debates involving contentious edits to long-standing lead paragraphs. Changes to the lead seem to trigger contentious edits that eat up editor time that could be better spent adding content. Often, these edits come from people pushing POV. Changing the lead like you did could provoke similar edits by people with less benign motives.
Canada is already a featured class article. I think editing the lead in an article that is already very high quality should require a larger consensus. The small improvements that edits like this make tend to be outweighed by the long and largely fruitless debates and edit wars they generate.
Right now on the talk page there is a debate on whether Canada should be referred to as a dominion in the lead, an issue that (I thought) was settled. This is considerably more contentious at the moment so please click here to comment
After settling this issue, I'd like to develop a similar consensus on the order of the paragraphs in the lead. Documenting a strong consensus on the issue (either way) will make it easier to maintain the page in the future. I won't revert the article again, but I encourage you to consider the longterm implications of keeping your edit. The edit probably will not last long, as another editor can just as easily change it back with the support of one or two other editors (moving paragraphs is very easy). You will have to spend (waste?) considerable time just monitoring the lead if you wish to keep the order of paragraphs.
Sorry for the long post, but I thought a complete explanation of my motives was necessary before any misunderstanding developed. Thanks. --Soulscanner 20:22, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

FL Main page proposal
You either nominated a WP:FLC or closed such a nomination this year. As such, you are the type of editor whose opinion I am soliciting. We now have over 400 featured lists and seem to be promoting in excess of 30 per month of late (41 in August and 42 in September). When Today's featured article (TFA) started (2004-02-22), they only had about 200 featured articles and were barely promoting 20 new ones per month. I think the quality of featured lists is at least as good as the quality of featured articles was when they started appearing on the main page. Thus, I am ready to open debate on a proposal to institute a List of the Day on the main page with nominations starting November 1, 2007, voting starting December 1, 2007 and main page appearances starting January 1, 2008. For brevity, the proposal page does not discuss the details of eventual main page content, but since the work has already been done, you should consider this proposal assuming the eventual main page will resemble either an excerpted list format or an abbreviated text format. The proposal page does not debate whether starting with weekly list main page entries would be better than daily entries. However, I suspect persons in favor of weekly lists are really voicing opinions against lists on the main page since neither TFA nor Picture of the day started as weekly endeavors, to the best of my knowledge. Right now debate seems to be among support for the current selective democratic/consensus based proposal, a selective dictatorial approach like that used at WP:TFA or a non-selective first in line/calendar approach like that used at WP:POTD. See the List of the Day proposal and comment at WP:LOTDP and its talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 19:07, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Can anyone find out what's wrong with my template?
The template {{WikiProject Canada}} has a gap below it, both in its full form (as here) and in its nested form (as here). Some users have tried to fix it, but to no avail. Can someone please figure out what's wrong with it? Thank you. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 19:36, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- I took a look and revised testcases and added sandbox with horizontal lines to highlight the problem. Yes definately extra white space below but it's NOT the template code emitting extra HTML. The problem has to be class= or style= values. – Conrad T. Pino 21:00, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Featured List of the Day Experiment
I am contacting individuals in the order of the number of featured lists that they had created by Novemeber 10, 2007. You are among those who have created the most. So you are among the first. There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 16:58, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

It does have an 'admin' =yes feature (it uses the Internet Explorer interface, I believe), so any admin tasks (especially repetitive ones) can be done via the AWB interface (though i can't imagine using it for most things!). If you have any more of these that you need done, just let me know. Can't do the admin stuff yet (in process) but hope to do so soon. SkierRMH (talk) 22:17, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Template:WikiProject Canada
Hello there you have made some comments regarding the aforementioned template. There are some Wikiproject Canada Workgroups such as Law, Political parties and politicians, etc, who have added syntax to the Canadian template, rather than creating their own assessment template. None of the provinces have done that - may they? Out of 10 provinces and 3 territories only 3 provinces have their own assessment template, 6 provinces including SK do not do assessments, 2 work groups do their own assessments, 6 workgroups include syntax with Canada wikiproject, and 3 cities do not do assessments, and Vancouver does theirs. note Is it ever that a province would add their wikiproject as a syntax code to the Canada wikiproject? I am involved more with SK wikiproject than the other provinces. Is it OK to have a wikiproject banner that supports the structuring of articles without assessment, and just add the CA banner for the assessment process? Or should the SK wikiproject change their banner for the talk page to include assessment? I have added this query to the newsletter also - trying to consolidate articles and such for SK. Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 19:37, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm actually the one who has been adding that functionality to the template and setting up assessment tables for the projects. I had always intended to eventually include the provincial projects to the template using the parameters "SK=yes", "ON=yes", etcetera. This would take a bit of time as it requires changing the template, setting up categories for the assessments, announcing the change, linking to the assessment table, writing importance criteria, and setting up a bot or auto wiki browser to change all of the outdated templates. I should be able to get around to it in a couple weeks if no one beats me to it. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 19:57, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

- Some of that stuff already has bots set up to do it, the main job that will need to be done is replacing all the old templates. I'll see if I can at least get Saskatchewan done so that you'll have something to work on. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 20:21, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Done. You can tag Saskatchewan articles with {{WikiProject Canada | sk=yes}}. Your assessment table is here; it will be updated once every couple days. --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 20:40, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oh My Goodness! You are speedy! You are absolutely amazing even! I am still reading about the various set ups which have taken place with the work groups, and you are done! Hokey dinah! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now another query which perhaps you can clarify. Before WP SK was set up, there was a SK roads wikiproject, which is now part of both WP SK and WikiProject Canada Roads. After WP SK was set up, then there was created a WikiProject Saskatchewan Communities & Neighbourhoods. What should these two other WP projects use on their talk pages, in your humble opinion? I will start doing the modifications to the wikiproject, newsletter and talk pages. SriMesh | talk 20:58, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Makes sense the note about the other WP. Thank you. SriMesh | talk 21:19, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- I say we should wait and see whether the SK communities projects develops into something worthy of having its own category or whether it gets reabsorbed into something else. The Saskatchewan roads project was far more specific than it needed to be, and once I get roads added to the main template, those can be tagged as "roads=yes | sk=yes". The same may happen to the communities project, it may get absorbed into the general SK project or into a general "communities in Canada project" --Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 21:04, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Woodrow Stanley Lloyd.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Woodrow Stanley Lloyd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. LOTD experiment
My userpage List of the Day experiment is getting under way at WP:LOTD. One of your lists has been nominated. I invite you to come by and represent it. If you would like to represent your list article please reformat your username in the table so it is normal sized. Among the things you may want to do to represent your list are:
- Change the image selection
- Add talk page projects to the list and then add them on the summary table
- Write a summary of the article in less than 500 characters. I will begin doing this later today for those who don't do it themselves.
- Participate in the feed back process when it starts on December 1.
- Participate in the voting when it starts on December 11.
You are free to remain uninvolved. Your list was chosen as being the first one produced by one of the most prolific successful FL nominators.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 18:56, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Wp1.0 total tracked and assessed 2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Wp1.0 total tracked and assessed 2.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:12, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:Tommy Douglas portrait.jpg
A tag has been placed on Image:Tommy Douglas portrait.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Tommy Douglas portrait.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Tommy Douglas portrait.jpg.
Thank you. WinHunter (talk) 08:33, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Québécois
Hello. Awhile back you assessed this article as being of high importance. I was wondering if you might reassess that in light of the fact that it was agreed (months ago, after protracted discussions to which I was a party) that the article would cover only the use of the word Québécois, and not the people themselves. The ethnic/cultural group is instead to be covered at French-speaking Quebecer, an article not likely to add much to the treatment at French Canadian. Joeldl (talk) 09:50, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Harry Nixon.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Harry Nixon.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 02:14, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Ipswich Town F.C. FTC
Hey! Just a quick note to ask what specific criteria you attach to promoting to FT (e.g. time limit) - the Ipswich Town F.C. featured topic candidacy has unanimous support, and has done now for ten days, so I was hoping for a promotion in the near future? Cheers! The Rambling Man (talk) 16:47, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Not a problem. No rush, I was just curious. All the best. The Rambling Man (talk) 10:20, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
A question
The new criteria doesn't specify whether it is 20% of articles rounded up or down. The Simpsons FTs have 26 articles, but we've been told that we need two more even though 20% of 26 is 5.2. So I was wondering if you could clarify this for me. -- Scorpion0422 00:48, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Why should it be rounded up? It seems that you should get a consensus on that first. -- Scorpion0422 01:02, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- IT just seems really unfair because the only topics affected by this are us, so why can't you cop us a break? Getting four episode FAs from a narrow group in 6 months will be extremely difficult, can you at least give us until the end of the year? -- Scorpion0422 01:14, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
An FT question
The WWE Cruiserweight Championship is no longer an active championship and it's part of the Active WWE Championships FT. It should be removed from the FT, but what is the proper way to do it? -- Scorpion0422 02:18, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- The thing about that is that there are over a dozen others that aren't included because they are no longer active, and if we leave the Cruiserweight title, we'd have to work to include all of the others. -- Scorpion0422 03:44, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Creating a WP:FT with Lists of billionaires
If I make List of billionaires (2006), List of billionaires (2007), and List of billionaires (2008) into WP:FLs, and either Lists of billionaires or Billionaire into either an WP:FL or an WP:FA, then would I be able to nominate them for a WP:FT? Or would the lists for the years before 2006 be required? The actual lists from Forbes go back a few decades at the least, I believe, but the lists on Wikipedia only start from 2004 to the present. If possible, I would like to focus on 2006–2008. Please let me know. Thanks! Gary King (talk) 22:49, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
WP:FT of Nintendo video game consoles?
If I created a WP:FT for Nintendo video game consoles, would including Color TV Game, Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube, and Wii be sufficient?
