I already rolled back his parting message. We only indef block IP addresses in the most extreme circumstances, and it is clear this individual is hopping between IPs, so only a short block is warranted. I'm sure swift action will be taken against any future Ip he uses. But thanks for the heads-up, and the help reverting this particular trolls's leavings. Much appreciated, Gwernol 03:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

AFD

Hi! I'd like to ask you to stop using the icons when you "vote" in AFD discussions. AFD is about consensus, not vote-counting, and your argument content should count more than your summarized recommendation. Also, since most editors do not use the icons, your "vote" (we call them !votes, for not-votes) seem to have undue prominence. Thanks. --Dhartung | Talk 21:09, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't think there was a problem in using them. I'll go back to the regular way of voting. ArcAngel (talk) 21:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Great! As far as I know they remain acceptable on some other discussion areas, but I don't keep track of those. Look forward to your contributions. --Dhartung | Talk 21:20, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Edit summaries at AfD

Hey- I've nominated a sack-load of articles today, so I have loads of AfDs on my watchlist. Just wanted to ask if you, instead of using the edit summary 'Added vote' or whatever it is you use, could say what the !vote was in your summary? J Milburn (talk) 21:42, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

I think what I put in is quite sufficient, sorry. ArcAngel (talk) 21:48, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok, sure, your choice. Happy editing. J Milburn (talk) 21:54, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

What constitutes advertising?

Hi, ArcAngel. Still trying to understand what constitutes advertising, re: article about VGMaps.com. It's hardly any different than VGMuseum.com, which does have a Wikipedia article, and the large collection of screenshot maps (which consist of multiple screenshots) must certainly be more notable than the single screenshots that VGMuseum has. No other site has as many screenshot maps, and it is a valuable resource for retrogamers. It's certainly not unnotable. I would be willing to rewrite the article if you would point out how it's any different than any other article about any other web site.

What constitues advertising is exactly how your submission was written. It wasn't "encyclopedic" at all. While screenshot maps might be notable within the emulation community, it is felt that it is not notable enough for Wikipedia. The VGMuseum site is notable because it contains content OTHER than screenshots. Contributing_to_Wikipedia might be helpful for you, as well as checking out how other articles are written, and try re-writing your submission to match the context format. Good luck! Slave New World

Is having a music video truly a measure of notability? If so, this song is claimed to have had a music video in Sepultura discography. If this is an indication of notability, I'll have to withdrawl. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 14:17, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

RfA - Toddst1

Hi ArcAngel, thanks for supporting my RfA, which passed with 42 supports, 0 opposes, and 0 neutrals. Special thanks goes to my nominator, Kakofonous. I'm pleased that the Wikipedia community has trusted me with the mop and I take it very seriously. Cheers! Toddst1 (talk) 15:29, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

On my talk page you will find an explanation why I would like your speedy delete tag disasembled.

Thank you in advance. George Washington Head (talk) 03:10, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I didnt know there was a policy against loving George Washington too much. :) That's okay, replaced it with better page. AND GOD I HOPE I'M NOT VIOLATING WIKI POLICYGeorge Washington Head (talk) 19:30, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the support
Thanks for your support on my request for adminship. It passed 92/2/2, and I hope to live up to the expectations of the community. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:58, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

"Nonsense usernames"

On WP:UAA you just expressed your desire to block "nonsense usernames", wishing TWINKLE had a category for them.

WP:UAA is there to enforce the username policy, not WP:IDONTLIKEIT. Listings on UAA are recommendations to block newbies, so please take them seriously. rspeer / ɹəədsɹ 16:40, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Do you think someone who was formally a highly-regarded admin needs to be asked about edit summaries? Especially when he has something like a 99% success rate with them... dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 02:23, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes. The keywords are "formally (sic) thought of". --Malleus Fatuorum (talk) 02:59, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

my RFA

Thank you for your comments in my RFA. It passed with a final count of (73/3/1), so I am now an administrator. I have listened to the comments, and will try to improve in all areas. Please let me know if at any stage you need help, or if you have comments on how I am doing as an admin. Have a nice day! :) Aleta Sing 19:38, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Editer Review

Thanks for reviewing me but I do have a question. I don't understand how nominating for adminship before 6 months violates the WP:SNOW.--RyRy5 talk 21:14, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
