I've been an avid Wikipedia browser for a long time. I thought it was about time I created an account and started giving something back to the service which has been so useful to me.

I like to study. I like to learn. I'm interested in everything from chemistry to palaeontology to law. I'm cursed with the perpetual feeling that I never quite know enough and that there are not enough hours in the day. I am not employed in academia, but I often wish that I was. Maybe someday I will be. I find that teaching helps me to learn.

I have absolute pitch, and let me assure those of you who do not that it is indeed more of a curse than a blessing. Imagine trying to sing with a choir where everyone else is uniformly half a semitone flat.

I'm currently wandering around Wikipedia, reading and learning about how it works. I've made an edit or two. I think I will begin my editing career as a WikiFaerieWikiGnome (don't have the legs for a faerie).
