I have designed a new archive box that incorporates everything from {{archives}}, {{archive box}}, and {{archive box collapsible}}. I propose that this be the new code for {{archive box}}, and that {{archives}} and {{archive box collapsible}} translude it. Would people please test it out and see if there are any glitches or problems. I think I have tried every possible combination, but there might have been something that I missed. - An archive box should display along with other talk page header banners. See archive banner. The current implementation of archive boxes leaves no logical/consistent place to add it on talk pages. Timneu22 (talk) 15:42, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Whoever reset this, thank you. It looks a lot better now (and doesn't force all the conversations down below it), and I couldn't find the edit that made it align to the center. Octane [improve me?] 26.04.08 1635 (UTC)
- Pomte fixed it. I'm still not sure what precisely the issue was, but it has something to do to with Firefox not properly recognising padding/margin:none. Dorftrottel (troll) 14:10, April 28, 2008
[edit] template failure?
Unlike the standard Template:Archive box, the collapsible version seems to be failing when you attempt to list archives that were created using the Permanent link archives method. The box is created but it never expands to show the archived links (though it does flicker slightly so something is happening.) See here for an example.
Can anyone figure out why? And, more importantly, can anyone fix it? Thanks. Rossami (talk) 13:11, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

- I tried it with Template:Archive box, and it doesn't display the permanent links either when omitting the 1=. (Moreover, even with 1=, {{Archive box}} doesn't seem to format the wikitext properly.) (Dorftrottel) 78.34.141.7 (talk) 10:00, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
