[edit] Hostage situation wikinews

On June 21, 2007 a hostage situation occurred at the First Mid-Illinois Bank at the corners of U.S. Route 45 and Illinois Route 133. This event started at 9:45 am with a traffic stop ten miles north of Arcola. A Douglas County deputy was shot in the face and torso.[1]

Moved from main article. This isn't really a news archive page, if something encyclopedic can be found here, I wouldn't object. Though tragic, a death or shooting doesn't seem to have far reaching long term noteworthiness. --Dual Freq 22:57, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I would have to agree. I struggled to see if this should be included or not. Really, this is just one event in the village's history. Even though it is on national news, it really isn't encyclopedic.--Kranar drogin 23:06, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
