An archive that the Spanish Wikipedia listed as Consulados de Sevilla y Cádiz, 16th-19th centuries, I had translated as separate Consulados, one for Seville another for Cadiz, thus with two archives. The entry has been corrected to read as above. Perhaps without any more knowledge than I have. Two archivess? Or were the Consulados combined in the administration that engendered these archives, to produce one archive? --Wetman 01:48, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

"Consulados" back then were merchant guilds and not diplomatic entities as we recognize them now. The first one was established in Sevilla and had the monopoly of trade with the Americas until the one in Cádiz was formed (ca. 17th century). Therefore these are two archives from two different entities, they just happen to be stored in the same place nowadays. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ | Esperanza 02:33, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
Hah! well, there you are! Angel-like, I feared to tread. So "Consulados of Seville and of Cádiz" as I had it originally to keep them separate, might be more correct, in the English Wikipedia, after all, without the "y" that suggests a label for a single archive. --Wetman 03:40, 13 December 2005 (UTC).
