Sub-family: Arecoideae; Tribe: Areceae; Subtribe: Archontophoenicinae.

There are seven genera in the subtribe Archontophoenicinae, namely Archontophoenix, Actinokentia, Hedyscepe, Chambeyronia, Kentiopsis, Mackeea, and Rhopalostylis, palms from Australia (Queensland, New South Wales, Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island), New Caledonia and New Zealand (including the Kermadec Islands).
