[edit] Line-Up Changes
The band had travelled around the UK on many tours supporting a number of different bands in support of their debut album 'Nightmares'. After a lengthy stint around the country as an opening act to SikTh and Dead Man In Reno, it became clear that the touring life was not suited to vocalist Matt Johnson, and so during their first headline UK tour in January of 2007 it was announced that the show at Oxford was to be Matt's last with the band. New vocalist Sam Carter joined the band onstage for 'The Darkest Tomb' as an introduction to the fans.
[edit] Controversy
In January 2008 whilst on tour with Bring Me The Horizon in Karlshrue, Germany, Architects and Bring me the Horizon filmed a staged "fight" between Architects vocalist Sam Carter and Bring me the Horizon vocalist Oli Sykes and uploaded it up on youtube, the fight occurred because "Sam disrespected Oli's Nan". Also later a picture of Oli Sykes "Bruised and Beaten up" circulated the internet (Oli Sykes put tomato ketchup on his eye to make it look swollen). Sam Carter was depicted as "Kicking the s*** out of Oli Sykes". This video and picture was interpreted as real and was greeted with mixed but extreme reactions. Architects fans praised the singer whereas Bring Me The Horizon fans became hostile towards Architects with some sending death threats to Sam Carter and the band. Later in an issue of Kerrang! both bands commented on how stupidly it was received and how it was just a laugh.
