Archibald Cleghorn

Archibald Scott Cleghorn 15 November 1835 - 1 November 1910) was the father of the heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Hawai'i, Princess Victoria Kaiulani of the House of Kalākaua. He married Princess Miriam K. Likelike, sister of the reigning King David Kalākaua , in September 21, 1870. He was a Scottish naturalized citizen of Hawaii. Cleghorn was also the Royal Governor of O'ahu, succeeding Prince Consort John Owen Dominis upon his death in 1891, and was the first parks commissioner for the City & County of Honolulu. He died of a heart attack on November 1, 1910 at the 'Āinahau royal estate.
