Archeolimulus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Archeolimulus is a prehistoric xiphosuran, related to the modern horseshoe crab. Its fossils can be found in rocks dating to the middle Ordovician between 460 and 466 million years old. Subsequent strata show no sign of Archeolimulus fossils, so it is likely that this was a short-lived genus. The only locality known to produce fossils belonging to Archeolimulus is the central area of the Czech Republic.
