Archbishop of Berlin

The Archdiocese of Berlin was erected on 13 August 1930 by Pope Pius XI and was elevated to the rank of an archdiocese on 27 June 1994 by Pope John Paul II.

As of 2004 the archdiocese has 377,000 Catholics out of the population of Berlin. This means that a little over 6% of Berlin is Roman Catholic. There are 122 parishes in the archdiocese.
