Archangelgorod Governorate

The Archangelgorod Governorate (Russian: Архангелогородская губерния), also known as the Government of Archangelgorod, was one of the eight original governorates of the Russian Empire established by Peter the Great in 1709. Its seat was in Arkhangelsk.
The governorate existed until 1780, when it was transformed into Vologda Vice-Royalty.
