Archaic is a Hungarian metal band. It was formed by three ex-members of Braindeath (Hungary) in 2004 with David Takacs on bass and vocals, Laszlo Puski on guitars and vocals, and Csaba Szabo on drums, setting a new path in musical experience—mainly thrash coloured with many kinds of other influences—but still based on the previous style. Among a couple of concerts, the band had its second "blitzkrieg" (concerts) in Kiev (Ukraine) the same year, but for the first time under the name "Archaic". Archaic had decided to record the first album and started prepare for the event. Originally only 4 songs were planned to be on the EP, but soon enough there were 10 songs were recorded to create a full album. In order to produce the best possible sound the recording and the mastering were done by Zoltan Cserfalvi in Denever Studio in 2005. The Time has come to Envy the Dead album was released by the band in 2006. setting up a new wave of Hungarian metal.
Afterwards, Archaic has signed to VicRecords for the Time has come... debut album in 2006, September. Meantime, the band also recruited undiscovered guitar talent Akos Olt.
