Austin Santos (born 1985) better known artistically as Arcangel, is a Dominican/Puerto Rican reggaeton artist. Known from the reggaeton duo Arcangel & De La Ghetto, he is well known for his charismatic, romantic lyrical style.

Austin Santos was born in 1985, in the city of New York. His Dominican mother, and Puerto Rican father, moved to Puerto Rico in the early 80s. In that time, his mother realized her dream of singing by joining a Merengue group known as Las Chicas del Can. Austin met a young man known in reggaeton as "De La Ghetto" and the two began working together ever since. "Arcangel & De La Ghetto", although they are relatively new artists, have done well so far with hits like "Agresivo", "Sorpresa", and "Mi Fanática". They have since then gained fame relatively quickly.

Arcangel was a formal member of the reggaeton duo Arcangel y De La Ghetto. They were known for their romantic style of song-writing, as well as bilingual lyricals (ex. De La Ghetto's rapping style). They were one of the most popular artists in reggaeton and remain so today, though as of 2007, the two have gone solo and are now working on solo records.

Recently, Arcangel was signed with a record deal to Mas Flow, Inc. In the beginning of 2008, Arcangel released his debut album "La Maravilla." However, due to the album leaking early to various music sharing sites, he decided to distribute the album away to his fans for free via digital download from his official website.[2]

Arcangel is planning to release his first album in store June 28, 2008 with 5 new bonus tracks including artist such as Daddy Yankee and Wisin & Yandel.[citation needed] The young artist is looking to be in competition with some of reggaetons best artist such as Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel and Don Omar. Arcangel is looking to make 2008 his year in music.
