Arbab Ghulam Rahim

Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim (Urdu: ارباب غلام رحیم ) (born on September 15, 1956) remained the Chief Minister of the Government of Sindh during 2004-2007.

He belongs to District Mirpurkhas in the province of Sindh, Pakistan. He belongs to a family that has been in politics in Pakistan from its inception.

Belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Arbab was elected to the Sindh Provincial Assembly during the 2002 elections, and was initially inducted as a provincial minister. Subsequently, he was elected as the Chief Minister of Sindh in 2004 after defeating Engineer Gianchand Meghwar on PS-60 in General elections of 2002.

He has a reputation of using foul language publicly and treating his opponents in rough and arrogant way; In October 2007 he slapped a security guard in public loudly abusing him. [1].

Arbab Rahim is a close aide of PML Q leaders Ch Shujjat Hussain and Ch Pervez Elahi. His opposers call him a "Punjabi Agent"

Arbab acquired his high school education from Cadet College Petaro, and went on to study medicine at the Sind Medical College in Karachi.

On 7th of April 2008, Arbab Ghulam Rahim was beaten by shoes from a mob of PPP activists and his former servants. The videos of the attacks are available on youtube [2].
