In 1964, the UPCA Chemical Society came into existence headed by Artemio V. Cartano, with the assistance of Luisito A. Tolentino and Dario C. Sabularse. With 25 charter members, the society was recognized on March 6, 1965. Consistent with the creation of UPLB as the first autonomous unit, the UPCA Chemical Society was officially renamed as the UPLB Chemical Society.

As a scholastic organization, the society has dedicated itself to the development of its members in the field of Chemistry and related sciences. Its growth is hallmarked by the promotion of the intellectual, social, physical, and artistic well-being of its members through its participation in the initiation of various events geared towards such.
