[edit] To do to improve
The article is pretty well developed; well written. The fault with this article currently is that there are still some "red links"... which isn't the fault of this article, but having those "red links" hold this article back. Please, someone start new articles to help better this great article! CJLippert 00:02, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
There is significant information available about this individual and his outstanding performance in Seminole War battles, in libraries in the State of Florida; however, much of it is not listed in card indexes. You have to go to the Florida Room, closed research stacks. This individual is always referred to as "Prophet Sam Jones" and he is revered because he never surrendered to the United States. During the end of this Seminole War, his small group did not go with Billy Bowlegs' people to Oklahoma, but retreated further into the alligator infested Everglades and were never captured by U.S. soldiers and did not surrender or sign a treaty with the American government. When President Roosevelt made the Everglades a National Park in 1934, it became a buffer to the descendants of Prophet Sam Jones, who never submitted, up to that time, to alien rule.68.19.50.91 05:11, 25 February 2007 (UTC)ProfEugn
