[edit] Season Information

Please read this before resetting the Aqua Teen season information! Someone does this every other day or so. It sucks. As of today's date (January 2007) ATHF has just finished Season Four. The episodes on the DVDs released by Adult Swim do not coincide with the actual season breakdowns.

Season 1 had 18 episodes. Season 2 had 24. Season 3 had 13. Season 4 had 13 also--there was a 3 Episode mini-season (Dirtfoot, Boost Mobile, Deleted Scenes), a long ass break while Matt and Dave worked on the ATHF Movie, and 10 more episodes (Dickesode-Carl Wash). News posts on the Adult Swim website made it clear that most if not all of Season 4 was produced BEFORE they stopped airing new episodes in December 2005. [i don't have a link, the news section has since been removed]

Season 1: Rabbot through Cybernetic Ghost

Season 2: Super Birthday Snake through The Last One

Season 3: Video Ouija through Spacegate World (Carl)

Season 4: Dirtfoot through Carl Wash

Here's the DVD breakdown:

DVD 1: Rabbot through PDA

DVD 2: Mail Order Bride through Universal Remonster

DVD 3: Total Recarl through The Last One

DVD 4: Video Ouija through Spacegate World (Carl)

DVD 5: Dirtfoot through Carl Wash

Notice that the first two seasons of ATHF were stretched out over the first three DVDs. Also, the episode order on the first three DVDs is different. Seasons Three and Four were produced 13 episodes at a time, meaning DVD Vols. 4 and 5 contain complete seasons of the show.

According to a schedule posted on the [as] main page, the upcoming Season Five will have 15 episodes, and will begin airing sometime 2007.

Hope this helps. --murrayjames 27 October 2006 (UTC), updated January 2007

Thank you Murray, I just hope that people read this before switching up the season numbers again (I haven't seen it happen in a while, so maybe people finally get it) ;) Lets keep this discussion at the top of the main talk page, and not archive it so people can read this without having to dig around in the archives. :: ZJH (T C E) 23:43, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ATHF DVDs split

It seems like all of the text shown in the table for the DVDs blends together and it makes it pretty difficult to read. I propose a split into a new articles called Aqua Teen Hunger Force DVDs. We can stretch out the info a little bit more without bloating the table, and make it easier on the eyes. :: ZJH (T C E) 17:58, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Failed "good article" nomination

This article failed good article nomination. This is how the article, as of March 4, 2007, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: Good
2. Factually accurate?: Not enough inline citations
3. Broad in coverage?: good
4. Neutral point of view?: good
5. Article stability? horrible. 7 edits Mar. 3, 12 edits Mar. 1
6. Images?: Good

When these issues are addressed, the article can be resubmitted for consideration. Thanks for your work so far. --Mr.Z-mantalk¢Review! 21:01, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GREAT JOB!

FIRST TIME IN MONTH IVE SEEN A WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH. GOOD JOB —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.195.132.253 (talk) 19:42, 5 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Carl Wash airs tonight!

It's definitely happening tonight. Maybe we can get a "Carl Wash" article written. :: ZJH (T C E) 02:36, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Failed GA

The article still isn't stable enough to pass. GreenJoe 16:48, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spoiler tags in movie section

Removed the spoiler tags for now, as nothing is spoiled in this article, unless you consider info about guest appearances and characters to appear "spoilers". 71.226.17.185 04:56, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Teen Force

Check out the wiki page for Teen Force. It seems that perhaps ATHF may have been inspired by this '60s cartoon. --65.102.2.8 07:29, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Title Description

Is it not called Aqua "Teen Hunger" Force because the main characters are all typical foods/beverages that American teenagers eat/drink? 131.111.236.124 19:47, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Sounds good 2 me. Although, why the "Aqua"? Eganio 09:27, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

One of the main settings, Carl's pool = "Aqua" ChesterG 13:48, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

It's a non-sequitur; it's not supposed to make any sense. The whole show is like that. Highonhendrix 03:59, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Meatwad

There could be a mention of Meatwad's considerable storage capacity, and his southern accent.Molybdenumtop 07:08, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ATHF and Burger King affiliation?

Can anyone confirm my childhood memory of getting plastic toys of Master Shake and Frylock in a Burger King kid's meal? They weren't CALLED Master Shake and Frylock, but looked remarkable similar. It would have been in the early to mid 1980s. I remember being struck with the memory when I first saw the show. I declared to my friend this memory, and he looked at me like I was nuts. Does anyone else remember this? I can't find any information on this anywhere... Thanks! Nothingnatural 23:49, 21 June 2007 (UTC)nothingnatural

  • If we were in person, I'd look at you like you were nuts. :) -Mike Payne 01:18, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

I remember the toys that you are talking about. However, those were just plain old shakes and fries on little wheels. They had no affiliation with ATHF.

i think i remember those things. the arms would be inside and they would fold out and you could play with them, yeah, i remember them. but there was like a sandwich and stuff so it probably had nothing to do with ATHF. O and i think it was McDonalds anyway. The juggreserection 13:41, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Aqua Teen?

I have never heard ATHF referred to as Aqua Teen, only Aqua Teens, plural. I was going to just change the article but I figured I would ask for some kind of a consensus first. Anyone disagree? -Mike Payne (talk - contribs) 03:40, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

They can be both —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.99.65.63 (talk) 15:37, 3 August 2007

The show is called "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" but the opening theme song has the phrase "'cause we are the Aqua Teens" - so it would seem that the characters can be collectively referred to as Aqua Teens; the show itself is sometimes referred to as Aqua Teen. -Etoile (talk) 02:58, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

I've heard the show called "Aqua Teen" for short, but only colloquially. --76.16.71.212 (talk) 08:53, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Abraham Lincoln?

Does anyone think that Abraham Lincoln should somehow be added to this article as he seems to show up or be mentioned in one way or another by the ATHF. I.E. ending credits, samarai lincoln, athf movie, I recall an episode where frylock builds a time machine and mantions they can go see Lincoln, and various other instances. It appears the characters or creators have a fascination with him. 66.239.36.110 16:47, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Erik 09:45, 6 August 2007 (PST)

No, unless a reference can be found -- which ideally would be an interview with the creators or an appropriate secondary source -- that demonstrates intent on the part of the writers that Abraham Lincoln and the show be associated with one another. Otherwise, it doesn't belong in the article because it amounts to unverified speculation in the minds of the show's viewers (see WP:V). To put it another way, what the writers put into an episode doesn't imply what they were actually thinking when they wrote it. You might be likely to go to them and say 'Are you aware that you made six references to Abraham Lincoln in the last season?' to which they might say 'Huh. Nope, I wasn't.' We don't know, because the question has never been asked and recorded by an appropriate source. Skybunny 20:27, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Go watch the movie. "Time Lincoln" as he is called shows up in the first 10 minutes. (The sequence is probably a reference to the end credits sequence.) Davethe3rd
That doesn't prove that "the characters or creators have a fascination with him," as the original poster was speculating. For that matter, the fact that this character appears in the movie does not demonstrate that "the sequence is probably a reference to the end credits sequence". The only thing that watching the movie proves is that the character was present in the movie - not the motivations for it being there. Works of fiction are narrative, and carry exactly as much meaning as the script as written. We cannot assume motivation for writing a particular thing simply by reading or seeing the work of fiction. Again, something written in a non-fiction interview or narrative from the writers of the series is needed to establish links like this.
A good read is the Wikipedia article WP:WAF, which discusses writing about fiction. Specifically: Using fictional material from the original work is fine, provided passages are short, are given the proper context, and do not constitute the main portion of the article. If such passages stray into the realm of interpretation, secondary sources must be provided to avoid original research. I would say that using the work of fiction itself to try to create links between other fictional works (like other episodes), or to try to figure out what the writers were thinking is interpretation in this context. [edit] Frylock in Sealab

In Sealab 2021 episode "Predator". The solution to get rid of the monster was to become really fat, I think. If one looks closely at the assortment of food on the table, Frylock can be seen, (look for a box with french fries that looks like Frylock, maybe on the far corner). Shouldn't that be stated in the "Cameos and appearances" for this article? If someone has just seen or has any recoded source of the show's episode please check? I think I am right or wrong, just trying to better the article. Speaker180 13:04, 14 August 2007

[edit] Is this Necessary?

This sentence is in the description of Frylock:

"Of course, ATHF doesn't have any real continuity anyway..."

it sounds more like an opinion than a fact(even though its right in a way). should it be changed or removed? The juggreserection 13:36, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maybe This?

Should there be on the article about the plutonians and mooninites? They have been in numerous episodes and even had large parts in the movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Driski555 (talkcontribs) 02:03, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, that used to be there, but some folks who believe in brevity over actually providing facts took it upon themselves to hack away at this page and the pages associated with this one until we are left with the eviscerated carcass that you find before yourself when you type in "Aqua Teen Hunger Force". Yes, boys and girls, Wikipedia has bulimia; it injests good, wholesome information and then regurgitates it into the nearest commode and flushes it away. Disgusting. Highonhendrix (talk) 12:53, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why the Dr. Weird openings were dropped

I talked to Jay Edwards and he said the reason the weird intros were dropped was because the writers were tired of doing them cause they were so hard to create ideas for, and when they finally created them, it put pressure on the animators to animate it quickly with a deadline that made it hard to finish in time.

Should we include this for the reason the Dr. Weird openings were dropped?

[edit] Longest Running Series on Adult Swim

In the opening paragraphs, ATHF is cited as being the longest running series on adult swim. This is wrong despite the citation. Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast aired longer, AND has more episodes. I feel this needs to be changed, or at least something along the lines of "even though this source claims this is the longest running, SGC2C is longer," "longest running of current as shows," or something like that. Thoughts? Bobtheduck99 (talk) 03:13, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

SGC2C is not an adult swim show. It was created well before adult swim and any status as an adult swim show is fairly dubious because of both that and its "gametap" run. To get into those kinds of specifics would just muddle up the simple truth with some excessive level of caveat.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 16:59, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spacecataz merger proposal

I am proposing that Spacecataz be merged here. The Spacecataz article is rather short, is completely unsourced, and I cannot find any verifiable sources for it. The information would fit nicely under the History section of this article. Kamek (talk) 03:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Decided to withdraw my proposal, Zachary found some good sources. Thanks! Kamek (talk) 19:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
The only thing I couldn't remember is the episode which had the audio commentary which talked about Spacecataz. I'm pretty sure it was one of the Volume 4 DVDs, if someone has them handy and can check up on this, that would be great. —Zachary talk 20:10, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Already taken care of; it was from Little Brittle. I shoulda looked at some more sources before proposing the merger, but maybe I'm just paranoid. Kamek (talk) 20:15, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stargate? FARgate

In the Plutonians character description, mention is made of the fact that Ogelthorpe is using a "Stargate" to steal ATHF's cable. In fact, Ogelthorpe clearly mentions that it's not a Stargate, but a "Fargate," ostensibly to avoid any copyright entanglements with the "Stargate" movie. The dialog:

Oglethorpe: We have successfully traveled eons across both space and time through the fargate to get free cable! Emory: I think it's a Stargate. Oglethorpe: It's the Fargate. 'F.' It's different from that movie that I have never seen.. so how would I copy it? Emory: Chill, man. Let's just turn it on. Oglethorpe: I just want to make sure that it's the fargate. Goes far, get it? And there's just no way it came from the movie or that syndicated series based on the movie. Emory: But it sure was a good movie. Oglethorpe: Ya, yes it was.

[edit] Character lists

Why did we bring back the character lists? There isn't enough real-world information to support these lists, and they're just going to get redirected again. Kamek (Koopa wizard!) 18:42, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
