Aquiles Delle Vigne

Aquiles Delle Vigne (born January 3, 1946), a pupil of Claudio Arrau, Eduardo del Pueyo and György Cziffra, is a concert pianist and a teacher from Argentina.

[edit] Early life
Aquiles Delle Vigne gave his first recital at the age of 8. At 17 he was already a disciple of Claudio Arrau and won the prestigious Grand Prix "Albert Williams", the most renowned competition in South America. This award opened the doors of the most important concert halls of the continent for him. Later he completed his training in Europe with Prof. Eduardo del Pueyo and György Cziffra.

He accomplished some 24 tournées in Japan, 8 in Australia, and many others in the United States of America, Canada, South America, Africa and Mexico. Today he is invited to the most important Festivals in the world like the Festivals in Gstaad, Paris, Salzburg, Madrid, Flaine, Euro Festival in Korea, Beethoven Festival, as soloist under Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Leopold Hager, Georges Octors, Alberto Lysy, Lee Dong-ho, Flavio Emilio Scogna with leadings orchestras as the Orchestre de la Radio et Télévision Française, the RAI in Rome, the National Orchestres of Argentine, Belgium, Colombie, Mexico, the Orchestre of the Bulgarian Radio in Sofia, and the Philharmonic Orchestres in Buenos Aires, Skopje, Fort Wayne Illinois, “George Enesco” of Bucharest, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paolo, Bangkok, Lima, Mexico and Bogota. He also played with the Camerata Menuhin, the Belgische Radio en Televisie and the Carlos Chavez National Orchestra in Mexico DF. Musicians like Pierre-Petit, Victor Legley, Flavio Emilio Scogna, Juan Carlos Zorzi dedicated important pieces to him.

Considered as a leading teacher in the world, Aquiles Delle Vigne gives Masterclasses at the International Sommerakademie Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, at the Rotterdams Conservatorium (Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten) in The Netherlands, and as Visiting Professor at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He is also regularly invited of leadings Institutions in the world in the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, Russia, Germany, France, Australia, Italy, South Africa and Thailand. His students got more than 100 Prizes in many international competitions. He is a member or Chairman of the panel of Judges at the most important international Competitions on all five continents: Sydney, Pretoria, Cincinnati, Turin, Paris, Texas, Casagrande, Masters in Monte-Carlo, Warsaw.

His vast discography with EMI His Master's Voice, BASF Harmonia Mundi, BMG-RCA Victor, Pavane and EMS received outstanding praise and distinction. His performance of the Preludes by Olivier Messiaen and the Sonate d’Octobre for the Pope John Paul II by Joanna Bruzdowich at the Vatican earned him tremendous praise from the composers.

Aquiles Delle Vigne is living in Brussels with his wife Chantal Remy. Their children Laurence, Gabrielle and Guillaume also practice music.
