Aquarium of the Lakes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Aquarium of the Lakes is an Aquarium in Lakeside, England. It sits on the banks of Windermere. It is one of the docking points of Windermere Lakes Cruises and also at one end of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.

The displays follows the theme of a Lake District stream, flowing down into the lake and then onto Morecambe Bay. The aquairum looks at the different environments that stream passes through, as well as having one display based on Windermere and one on Morecambe Bay. As a result, the Aquarium contains both freshwater and salt water animals. It is the third most visited paying tourist attraction in Cumbria [1]
