Apthamitra (translation: Close friend ) is a 2004 Kannada movie starring Dr.Vishnuvardhan,Ramesh Arvind, Soundarya and Dwarakish. This was actress Soundarya's last film. The storyline of this movie was inspired by the Malayalam movie "Manichithrathazhu" and was later remade in Tamil as Chandramukhi starring Rajinikanth. It was a box-office hit and ran successfully for a year.
