- The Article of the Day was a humorous article about a person by the name of Ima Hogg (actually a real person, despite the name). It was edited or vandalized 347 times on April 1.
- The Did You Know section included interesting facts about John F. Kennedy being killed by government agents, Ben Affleck dying while shoveling snow, and six latrines being listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
- Kmweber initiates a RFA at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Kmweber 2 where he suggests, among other things, that, as an admin, he would delete the main page and AfD, redirect and salt User:Jimbo Wales, put penis pictures on George W. Bush, and indef block anyone who votes "oppose" in his RfA.
- User:Sean William initiates a RfB later moved to his userspace, which is transcluded on the RfA and RfB main pages.
- JeremyMcCracken proposed the merge of Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo, and Google into Internet.
- RyanGerbil10 "tweaked" the deletion log notice.
- Viridae added a fake block notice to the watchlist.
- Omegatron changed the tagline, and so did Viridae. [1]
- Useight suggests the deletion of the United States article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/United States (2nd nomination).
- Other humorous AfDs: Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion/Human, Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion/George W. Bush, Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion/Jimmy Wales, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/William Connolley (second nomination) (actually its fifth nomination).
- Humorous MfDs: Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/temp, Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism.
- A spam report by MER-C.
- Sceptre adds a "citation needed" template to this page. [citation needed] And so does TenPoundHammer...[citation needed] or maybe it was one of his otters.[dubious – discuss]
- Nwwaew created Wikipedia:Vandal Coaching, but the joke went over some people's heads as it was immediately put up for deletion at WP:MfD.
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion and Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion are both nominated for deletion[2][3] on the basis they "encourage gross incivility, personal attacks, assumptions of bad faith, biting of newcomers and wikidrama, all of which are rampant in deletion discussions."
- Jimbo Wales is reported as a vandal. Multiple times.
- Drahcir created article AAAAAAAAAA... (real title was 200 letters) with content of 2000 A's. The page was deleted instantly and Drahcir got himself a 24-hour block. He was unblocked 1 minute later by the same admin, who chose to warn him first.
- User:WikiLeon cklaims to be a doppelganger account of User:Lbmixpro, who is actually a doppelganger account of User:WikiLeon.
- A Deletion Review of Wikipedia:Deletion review was opened by User:IronGargoyle.
- Merovingian added "spacing" to the Main Page.
- Nihiltres changed "Block user" to "Pwn user" for admins.
- D.M.N. nominated Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Professional wrestling for deletion. D.M.N. (talk) 21:26, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Blue Laser announced that he was leaving.
- The Search box buttons are relabeled to "I'm Feeling Lucky" and "Wacky Search"
- Mzmadmike posted a list of that rarest of things...List of Sunny Days In Britain In The 20th Century which was quickly speedied...however they missed the addition of the link in the climate section of the England article [[4]]
- The user MCP9x4 tried to merge Communism[5] into U.S.A[6]
- Keilana and Tiptoety wheel warred over Jimbo's user rights and whether or not to grant him rollback. Which resulted in an indef block of Keilana by Tiptoety.
- Metros added, over the "Outstanding requests" header on WP:CHECK, the headers "Poor requests", "Decent requests" and "Pretty good requests".
- Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates enjoyed three April Fools' nominations: Micro image of a pixel, a Statue of Liberty panorama and "packers".
- Wikipedia:Featured topic candidates saw the nomination of a topic on Hippos, which included Hungry Hungry Hippos, Hippopotamus, Hippogriff, Augustine of Hippo, Hippocampus and Hippocrates.
- Users reported themselves to WP:AIV[7][8] and amazingly one was taken seriously [9]
- Portal:U.S. Roads was changed for the day listing a project stub as the "selected article" among other changes since reverted.
- User:Dustihowe redirects the shortcut WP:AFD to the April Fool's Day page.
- Aecis (talk · contribs) started an MfD on Wikipedia:Blocking policy
- Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2008 April 1#Template:Fact
- Wizardman requests a checkuser on admins Bearian and Scarian.
- A note Wikipedia introduces a new feature, video articles and is looking for volunteers to present articles in front of the camera. Apply now! was added into the ITN section on the Main page. It stayed there for six minutes.
- Page nuking is enabled by Kwsn.
- block duration units changed to seconds and fortnights by User:Random832
- To make fun of the amount of time and effort spent on processes, Wikipedia:Requests for process was created.
- Wikipedia:April Fools' Day was created. Now changed to Wikipedia:Pranking.
