[edit] Holidays and observances
- Israel - Yom Ha'atzma'ut (Israeli Independence Day) for 2007: (the observed date of this national holiday is determined by the Jewish Calendar).
The Yom Ha'atzma'ut says that this is celebrated on April 24, not the 23. I understand the proublem with Jewish holidays beginning at sundown and lasting until the next sun down. But I don't know which will be the corect date to cite. -Kode 14:50, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gregorian calendar
I have removed referenced to the Gregorian dates in the events calendar. Since this is our default calendar in the West I see no need to add this. Comments? Thanks,Hu Gadarn 15:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "Cupstacking champion"?
Someone has added a "cupstacking champion" to the birth list for notable people. I'm wondering what people think about this. It is not a redlinked bday but hardly seems notable. My concern is that this lead to an endless list of bdays or articles on people with such historically monumental relevant characteristics as "Winner of Grade 3 sack race" and "Employee of the Month". Thoughts? Thanks, Hu Gadarn 15:37, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- They meet the criteria - they have a Wikipedia page. If they are notable enough for that then they are notable enough to be listed in under Births (at least that is the criteria as I understand it). If you feel that they are not notable then nominate the page for a delete. I know it sounds silly but people do take cup stacking seriously. No accounting for taste I suppose :-D -- Borameer ™ 18:57, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
