Apocalypse (film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Apocalypse is the first film in Cloud Ten Pictures' Apocalypse series about the end times. This film is also the first film that Cloud Ten produced. It was released on video and DVD but was never released to theatres. The film was made in 1998 in association with Jack Van Impe Ministries.

The film portrays Jack Van Impe as himself in videos played after he has been raptured. Oddly, even though there are four films in the series, the only end-time events depicted in the films are the Rapture, the War of Ezekiel 38-39, and the mark of the beast.

The series consists of:

  • Apocalypse
  • Revelation
  • Tribulation
  • Judgment
  • Apocalypse V (upcoming)

A spin-off movie called Vanished was produced, which had John Hagee speaking about the Rapture, mixed with new footage from the same world as the series, including members of One Nation Earth.

Tagline: Caught in the eye of the storm.

[edit] Plot

This film introduces us to Helen Hannah, a news reporter for WNN, World News Network. Her boyfriend and fellow anchor, Bronson Pearl is in the middle east covering the Battle of Armageddon. While Bronson is there, the rapture occurs and the whole world is thrown into chaos. Both Helen and Bronson search for answers.

Helen sadly finds that her grandma was taken to be with Jesus. But she had left a key for Helen, using which she opens a box that has tapes of Dr. Jack and Rexella Van Impe's television show. The tapes are about the end times, the Apocalypse.

After watching the tapes, Helen becomes a Christian. Her next goal is to convince Bronson that the "messiah", Franco Macalousso is really the anti-Christ. Bronson, of course, thinks she is crazy. He, like everyone else, thinks that Macalousso is the messiah that they have been waiting for.

Unbeknownst to Helen, she has been shadowed by the new WNN manager, Len Parker, who is working for the anti-Christ. He has two agents who chase Helen down and ultimately capture her. She faces the death sentence reserved for all remaining Christians (or "Haters" as the New World Government calls them) and finds out that Bronson has accepted Christ after seeing his father's grave empty. He is going to die on live national television in front of all the other "Haters".

He is about to be hanged when suddenly, footage of Bronson and Parker saying that the people have no say whether they believe in Macalousso or not is displayed instead. Parker is furious.

At the station, one of Parker's agents has turned and become a "Hater". He has locked up all the other station workers and is playing Helen's tapes! He shows one of Dr. Jack Van Impe reciting the sinner's prayer and across the globe, people make Jesus their Savior.
