[edit] Kava
Can anyone confirm with references the drinking of kava by the GAs during the dedication? Their stand has been said to be "Only for ceremonies and then only 2 cups", and it is well circulated that they did drink during the dedication, but I have not found any sources.Billy Nair 22:16, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Supposed to be in Am. Samoa
Here is the story of why it was built in [Western] Samoa as I heard it:
American Samoa was supposed to get the temple. When they went to Samoa to announce the building of it, they were greeted with dancers in traditional dress. The GAs said, to dress in a way that you can keep your garments on, but the American Samoan leaders said, well, this is Samoa, we will dance "Fa'a Samoa" (in the way of Samoa) so they finished the ceremony, the GAs said, thank you, and left, with out the announcement that they were going to build the temple there. Then they went to visit [Western] Samoa, and guess what, everyone, even dancers, were wearing clothes, even the traditional dress, cut in a way that allowed for the garments when they got there. They decided to build the temple there. Any sources to confirm or deny that? Billy Nair 22:16, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
