[edit] Reads like an advertisement
The addition to this article made at 14:35, 14 November 2006 by 124.81.250.115 makes it read like a blatant advertisement. I added the {{advert}} tag today.
I went to this article for an unbiased factual encyclopaedic summary which would cite independent references and give considered and balanced assessment. The promotional article I found does little credit to the establishment or to the person who added it.
I would hope that APIIT might have an academic person who could write a factual description of the place from a neutral point of view, backed up by respected, established 3rd party references.

- This article has since been completely re-written so the above comment does not apply to the current article. - Euchiasmus 08:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

- Still reads like an advert. Look at the 2'nd paragraph.
"Together with APIIT, UCTI offers internationally benchmarked undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various areas of Computing, Information Technology, Media, Technopreneurship, Business & Computer Games which focus on developing students into well-rounded professionals with the right blend of knowledge, skills and attitudes to succeed in their careers."

- "Still reads" doesn't apply. My comment above (26 December) applied to the version about 110 edits ago. Since then, lots of prospectus-style promotional sections have kept finding their way back in. I keep deleting them. I just googled the second paragraph you commented about and found it was copied almost verbatim. I've axed it. I've removed all the prospectus-style stuff I could identify. I've also condensed the section on courses and programmes - Wikipedia is not the right place for a complete bulleted list of every course run by a college or university! Consequently, I removed your advert tag - I hope you don't mind. Happy to discuss and address any specific issues... Regards, Euchiasmus 06:24, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-encyclopaedic additions by unregistered editor(s)
On 7 January 2007, 60.51.180.126 added a strange paragraph under the heading Preparation for Masters which seems to be part of some student dispute and is certainly not encyclopaedic material. I removed it.
On 10 January 2007, 218.208.229.143 added a similarly bizarre paragraph under the heading Masters Programme, continuing the same theme of personal comments about individual students. I've removed it.
I would have hoped that people associated with an Institute of Information Technology should be able to grasp the difference between an encyclopaedia and the more informal types of online site such as blogs, forums and newsgroups - and to use a more appropriate medium for their discussion of issues such as this.
Please don't re-insert this material. Thanks - Euchiasmus 21:08, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ApiitTPM.jpg
Image:ApiitTPM.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:54, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
