Apiro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Macerata in the Italian region Marche, located about 40 km southwest of Ancona and about 25 km northwest of Macerata. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,430 and an area of 53.7 km².[1]
The municipality of Apiro contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Frontale and Casalini.
Apiro borders the following municipalities: Cingoli, Cupramontana, Matelica, Poggio San Vicino, San Severino Marche, Serra San Quirico, Staffolo.
