[edit] Is this page really relevant?

Would it be a better idea to create a template with all these details on instead - for example, there is no need to have a listing of all the characters in the series. Seems silly to me. They should be separate for each released game.

The categories need to be sorted on some of the articles as well, e.g. Spike.

If no one else gets round to it, I might have a go at making a template... --rjcuk 17:08, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

You're right. The article is grammatically flawed and difficult to read without citing sources, and the general purpose it serves is nullified by the specific articles. Somebody needs to make a template. Faunis 05:40, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fan Characters

This really doesn't belong in an article trying to be serious. Removed. Kitsunexus 08:03, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fanmade

Are these really notable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Carados (talkcontribs) 01:37, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

No, deleted. Kitsunexus 22:58, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Just for reference, the fan made game it up for deletion at this.-Carados 01:17, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Cool, thank you. Kitsunexus 05:32, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ukki

What is the meaning of the Japanese word "ukki" as used in the games? I have looked in three or four different Japanese dictionaries and have thus far been unable to find it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.152.190.21 (talk) 20:30, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

It could be slang? Try babelfish. I'll post a link now. ;)SLJCOAAATR 1 (talk) 20:54, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Here.

Hope this helps! ;)SLJCOAAATR 1 (talk) 20:55, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

I tried typing "ウッキ" into Babelfish, Japanese to English, but it just gave me "ウッキ" (the same) as a so-called 'translation'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.35.104.98 (talk) 06:17, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

  • Hi there. I think one of the reasons why you got the same text back is because you used Katakana. If it was not written in Katakana, it could have been the word for "gloomy" written as 鬱気 and pronounced Ukki. Hope this helps. (btw, please try to remember to sign your comments).--Ubardak (talk) 06:24, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
    • Actually, I mean "ウッキー" as in "ウッキーイエロ" (Ukki Yellow/Monkey Yellow) or "ウッキーレッド" (Ukki Red/Monkey Red), or even a few of the piposaru in the third game which have "ukki" in their names. Yes, ukki in this sense is usually written in katakana. I had only now realized that "ウッキー" had a Chō-on in it, but once again I entered in the katakana (this time with the Chō-on), and got the same kana back. It seems to mean "monkey", but I can't really be sure as it seems to be used as a sound effect sometimes outside of Ape Escape and doesn't seem to be in any dictionaries. 72.35.104.98 (talk) 03:39, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Wow...i'm confused...SLJCOAAATR 1 (talk) 15:37, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Shouldn't everything be changed to English?

No really; shouldn't it? It's not as if we know the series as Saru Getchu. ChromeWulf ZX (talk) 21:22, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Excellent point. I'll start. GaeMFreeK (talk) 08:07, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
    • I guess that I'll work on the Spike article then. ChromeWulf ZX (talk) 23:10, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] This is pathetic.

All Ape Escape articles here really need an overhaul. They all use a bunch of advertisement speak, POV, commentary, obvious noninformation, bad grammar, spelling, syntax, and organization, utter disregard for the American versions and an insistence that the Japanese names be at least included whenever possible if they even use another name, and just a bunch of nonsense no one cares about without a citation or reference in sight.

It's like it was translated right over from the Japanese version with Altavista by a 12-year-old anime freak who then unsuccessfully tried to clean it up. I'd go and change some things myself but any English-language information on the series is limited, but anyone who can read Japanese needs to really clean this up.
