Andhra Pradesh Differently-Abled Peoples Collective is a community-based organisation located in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and part of the Dalit Bahujan Shramik Union. It is also an affiliate of dappu.
Among the differently abled, those belonging to the Dalit-Bahujan community are the ones most neglected and victimized. Although laws have been enacted and commissions put in place, they are either toothless or redundant.
Identifying, uniting, and spreading awareness about the existing entitlements of the differently-abled is one of the many tasks on the agenda of this Hyderabad-based Collective.

[edit] Work
In the initial stage, surveys of the differently-abled are carried across a particular mandal in a district that is selected based on the population of the differently-abled. Then executives from the main office plan their visit to the mandal to form a committee comprising of the inhabitants of that mandal. Word is spread about this beforehand and necessary arrangements are made by the local Coordinator.
On the agreed day, those who make it to the meeting are made known their rights and entitlements (many of whom are ignorant). The merits of forming a collective are divulged.
Then, a democratically-elected committee is formed. Later, a membership-drive is launched, monies of which are put into a local bank controlled by the committee to cater to such expenses as may arise in the due course of conduction of its duties towards its members.
Unitedly, the committee takes individual cases to such officials of the Government as may be for their redressal.
