[edit] Merge AB and BC

  • I second the merge, both of the AP Calculus courses can be sufficiently covered in a single article on AP Calculus with sections for each exam. —Jnk 14:00, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Support Both exams can be covered in a single AP Calculus article, and the other two should redirect. --ĶĩřβȳŤįɱéØ 05:59, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I already merged them

This single article looks better than the other three individually. We should add a history section, passing trends, etc. I'll do it myself if someone doesn't already beat me to it. --ĶĩřβȳŤįɱéØ 06:16, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AB v. BC

I don't know if this is important enough to be added, but the probable reason for the higher pass rate in the BC exam is that (according to my APCS textbook) you should take the easier if you don't think you can pass the tougher exam. IMacWin95 23:15, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

I thought it was because there were less people taking it, plus, if a person is enrolled in Calculus BC, then they must already have passed Calculus AB with a high grade. If they didn't like Calculus, they wouldn't be taking BC. --ĶĩřβȳŤįɱéØ 07:48, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

At most schools that have both, it's a choice between AB and BC.

[edit] Unmerge AB and BC

I think that it might be a good idea to unmerge the AB Calculus and BC Calculus pages. They are different exams and they have major differences between them. --GoOdCoNtEnT 00:32, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Well you see, the problem was that, before they were merged (by yours truly), they were both identical stubs. I will only support an unmerge once their sections become too big and unwieldy to be on a single page. But at the current size of the article, imagine what it would be like if there were separate articles. They would have 75% identical text. So, I say keep them merged. --ĶĩřβȳŤįɱéØ 06:24, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Including Course Outline

I noticed the AP Computer Science AB artical has a course out line. Should that be added to the Calculus section. I think it should. It's about the most usefull information you can get from an artical of this topic. The only problem is it will be cluttered with the AB and BC sections merged.

l'hopitals and improper integrals were definately on the exam when i took it in 2002. partial fractions was not.

[edit] Subscore

I took the BC exam in 2003, and got an AB subscore (what I would have gotten if I had taken the AB exam) in addition to the BC score. If this is still happening it should be mentioned in the article. I don't know of any other AP exams that do this, and it's particularly important if someone fails the whole BC exam but gets a passing AB subscore. --Galaxiaad 01:23, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
