Aogeba tōtoshi (仰げば尊し?) is, along with Hotaru no hikari, one of two songs commonly sung at graduation ceremonies in Japan.
[edit] Lyrics
- Aogeba tōtoshi wagashi no on
Oshie no niwa ni mo haya ikutose
Omoeba ito to shi kono toshitsuki
Ima koso wakareme izasaraba - Tagai ni mutsumishi hi goro no on
Wakaruru nochi ni mo yayo wasuruna
mi wo tate na wo age yayo hageme yo
Ima koso wakareme izasaraba - Asayū narenishi manabi no mado
Hotaru no tomoshi hi tsumu shirayuki
Wasururu ma zonaki yuku toshitsuki
Ima koso wakareme izasaraba
