[edit] Merge proposal

Contrary to what one might expect (seeing as how I nominated its deletion), I'm starting to think that parts of Distinguishing "blue" from "green" in language should be moved into this article. On reread, that page seems likely to slowly expand into a discussion of the semantic fields of color words in various languages. If sufficiently expanded (which it probably could be), this would make a good sub-article of such a page. (Admittedly I don't find the hollyhock information at the bottom relevant; I agree with ShizuokaSensei's comment on the deletion discussion that it's just a dicdef. The article is titled "(color)", after all.)  –Aponar Kestrel (talk) 02:38, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

I do not think blue vs. green should be merged into Ao. I am entirely western, but for whatever reason (nature/nuture/...) I think of teal as blue instead of the conventional green. I had not heard the term Ao before, though I have considerable exposure to Japanese culture, having even encountered Ao before, without knowing it's meaning. Essentially, I think an English "access point" and discussion is needed, exclusive of cross-cultural references. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 4.232.129.122 (talk • contribs) 6 August 2006.
Could this page get merged/split into Distinguishing blue from green in language and Wiktionary? --Quiddity 07:05, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
