Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home is a popular song with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Johnny Mercer.
It was first introduced in 1946 in the film St. Louis Woman. In the film the song was sung by a female character of easy virtue, and the lyrics start out, "Free and easy". The score by Arlen provides a languid accompaniment, somewhat like One for My Baby (and One More for the Road), also by Mercer.[1]
The song has been recorded by Lena Horne, Barbara Streisand, Sammy Davis, Jr., Johnny Mercer, Judy Garland, and Rosemary Clooney, among others.
