Hi, I'd like to draw your attention to the West Bengal map. The boudaries of districts Bankura and Bardhaman are grossly wrong. The whole Asansol sub division has gone into Bankura. It is good that you liked the article on Janbazar. I think I shall be able to do a few more articles on Kolkata neighbourhoods. There is another Indian editor, who is contributing enormously - Amarrg. It is a matter of time that he overtakes me in DYKs. So far, he has been really consistent. I am not well up on literature. I today saw Sannyasi Rebellion created by you. Thank you for it. The impact and scale of Sannyasi Rebellion is deliberately underestimated by British historians. Total number of casualties, though uncertain, was much more. Bengal Famine of 1769-71 needs more space, because it was the immediate cause of Sannyasi Rebellion.

I recently expanded Bengali Brahmins to more than double its size, but I feel some points are dubious. Unfortunately, other editors are not interested in it at present. I had more data on Maithil Brahmin which I am still working on. Similar material of Bengali, Utkala and Shakadvipi (recently created by me) brahmins is lacking. I have similar plans for other branches. Unfortunately, non-brahmanical castes have not preserved such data, excepting the aristocracy. -Vinay_Jha 13:48, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. Well an obvious initial idea is that you could begin including links to the relevant Wikipedia articles in the discussion pages at ACSCB, as the BBC has begun to do with its radio programs (link). We could then back-link from the talk page with a template that says something along the lines of "New research at ACS relevant to this article." Tim Vickers 14:50, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Image:Bijon bhattacharya.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.
