Hello there, welcome to the 'pedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you need any questions answered about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or drop me a line. BTW, real nice work on the MacOS related articles. Cheers! --maveric149
Hello there, I wonder whether terms like hyphen and asterisk really need disambiguation? What other meanings do they have? Koyaanis Qatsi, Monday, June 24, 2002
We'll be here when you get back. ;) --Stephen Gilbert
I hope I didn't drive you away with all those apostrophes and semicolons! (misuse of !). Ortolan88
Hello. In grotesque, I think you used too many capital letters; words in section headings are not normally capitalized except the first letter and things that would be capitalized if found in lines of text. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Michael Hardy 21:18, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)
... Also, it's usually better to write:
- A dog is an animal that barks.
than to write
- Dog is a term used to refer to an animal that barks.
I've changed this in the "typography" section of grotesque. Michael Hardy 21:22, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summary
Hi. Just a little request - please write something in the edit summary box when you edit a page - eg. "fixed link" or something. This means people who are watching a page you edit can see what you've done without having to view the page. Thanks.
Oh, and nice homepage, BTW! :) ··gracefool |☺ 07:28, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Please remember to write in complete sentences. Check out the Wikipedia:Manual of Style for other tips on writing here. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 22:53, 8 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

I am glad you didn't really think I posted this!(?) The day I paste such nonsense to WP, I ask that I be mercifully blocked ;o) dab (ᛏ) 09:24, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Wikicities is now Wikia
I see you added links to the Conan wiki to a lot of the articles in Category:Robert E. Howard. Please note that Wikicities is now called Wikia, so it would be nice if you could change the links to point to "conan.wikia.com" instead of "conan.wikicities.com". As it stands, there is a seemless redirect to the proper URL, so this isn't a very pressing matter. But if you have time someday... - dcljr (talk) 16:55, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Soon enough? I think I got them all. --Ant 21:46, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. Actually, you missed a couple, but I changed them. I only checked the pages you added links to on March 21st; I assume those are the only ones that needed checking. BTW, someone reverted away the link you added to Conan the Barbarian (film). I don't know if you want to add it back again... - dcljr (talk) 16:24, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:System 7 planet 7.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:System_7_ep.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:System_7_ep.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigrTex 20:34, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have also tagged the following images as orphaned fairuse. In order for the images to be kept at Wikipedia, each must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add not orphan to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:System_7_system_express.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:System_7_system_express.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 20:37, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have also tagged the following images as no rationale, because they do not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description pages.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Glass low-symphony.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Glass low-symphony.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 13:50, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
