[edit] Gary Weiss

  • Gary Weiss (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
    • Biography of the subject, a financial journalist who worked for Business Week and has recently (since late 2006) written an occasional column called "Muckraker" for forbes
    • Created 13 April, 2006 by Mantanmoreland (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log), who some people believe to be journalist Gary Weiss himself.
    • About 220 revisions
    • Mention in edit history (mid-2006) of deleted revisions (apparently by a banned user). Dmcdevit, SlimVirgin and Voice of All involved as admins
    • Until late 2006, edited mainly by Mantanmoreland and Lastexit (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log). On 13 February 2008, GRBerry (talk contribs blocks protects deletions moves rights) blocked him as an abusive sock of Mantanmoreland
    • See logs, which show that is was twice deleted and selectively restored in summer and Autumn, 2006, to eliminate inappropriate material.
    • Cla68 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log) makes his first edits to article in Autumn, 2006. Remarks on unsourced assertions and non-standard reference formatting
    • See Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Cla68 (1 June 2007 ). Cla68 called this RFC personally due to complaints about his handling of disputes on this article. He said that he had been led their by comments on an external site called "antisocialmedia.net" where, he was told that the Gary Weiss article was being controlled by POV pushers. He describes how his subsequent editing experience convinced him that some of the editors of the article had a conflict of interest, and on this grounds listed it for deletion. Jimbo Wales himself intervened and deleted the deletion discussion.
    • See also Cla68's RFA (Ended Fri, 6 Apr 2007) during which SlimVirgin has raised Cla68's conduct, particularly his support of attacks by a certain "WordBomb", believed to be journalist Judd Bagley, who operates antisocialmedia.net.
