Google search for terms: Anton, Staedler, clarinet produces only 2 hits, both of them in Wiki. Are we sure this person even exists? -- Evercat 17:39 Apr 30, 2003 (UTC)

Google shows me many hits for Anton Stadler when googling anton mozart clarinet. Will move the page. -- JeLuF 19:01 Apr 30, 2003 (UTC)

I've added all that I know about Stadler. From my research there is not an awful lot more known about him, but my research has not been exhaustive I'm sure!

Anton Stadler was not exactly a clarinet player, but more a basset-horn player (the ancestor of the clarinet and oldest representative of the clarinet family). Actually, the works from Mozart "for clarniet" were composed for basset-horn. So looking for "Anton Stadler+clarinet" in Google shouldn't give a lot of results. --Sixsous 14:13, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Was Stadler not also a composer in his own right? I believe he composed five Terzetti for 3 horns, and at least 4 Duettini for 2 clarinets...? --Proberts2003 10:49, 22 August 2006

[edit] Nationality

I'm guessing he was Austrian, not sure. Whatever his nationality is however, it should be in the article. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 20:24, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
