Gallienus. 253-268 AD. AR Antoninianus (2.75 gm). Struck 260-261. Mediolanum mint.
- GALLIENVS AVG, radiate and cuirassed bust left, holding spear and shield over shoulder
- LEG VII CLA VI P VI F, bull standing right.
RIC V pt. 2, 348 var. (CL as opposed to CLA); Göbl 1006i var. (same); Cunetio 1465 var. (same); RSC 512 var. (same).
This coin celebrates Legio VII Claudia, VI times faithful, VI times loyal, and bears the bull, symbol of the legion, on the reverse.
