Hi Gled
I'm responding to your image query which was lodged through the Museum's Discovery Centre. The image referred to is:
"Photo from "Mammals of Australia", Vol. I Plate 35 Part of the 3 Volumes by John Gould, F.R.S. Published by the author, 26 Charlotte Street, Bedford Square, London, 1863 Reproduction Photo by Marnie Rawlinson, Cathy Accurso andKen Walker © Museum Victoria"
The statement on our website is actually incorrect as this particular image is out of copyright. As such I don't have a problem with you using this image on Wikipedia provided the image from the website is suitable for your purposes. If you require us to supply you with another version of the image, image production and/or reproduction fees would apply. You should credit the image as Source: Museum Victoria.
Kind Regards
John

Hi John
Please find below a request to use an MV image of some of the Gould plates for use on the Wikipedia website. Although not a typical image query by any means, I see that a previous request to use an image for this website was responded to by yourself, so I hope this is Ok for us to do this again.
Can you please let us know the outcome of this enquiry so we can close the record at the appropriate time?
Cheers

Or is permission by Yourself and/or the photographers required? As there is a darth of information about Australian animals, including pictures. I prefer to be contacted by e-mail, so if this is favourable the information can be submitted to wikipedia - client 30/03/2006 12:58:45 PM
