Antwerp International School

Antwerp International School (AIS) is a private elementary, middle, and high school located in Antwerp, Belgium. The school was founded in 1967 and has since grown from an enrollment of 65 students to over 550. The school celebrated its 40th anniversary in December 2007.

The first senior class of AIS graduated in 1971. In 1972, AIS became the first institution to be accredited by the European Council of International Schools. The school is regularly re-evaluated by the organization.

For the 2007-2008 school year the interim headmaster is Mr. Tom Walters. The current high school and middle school principal is Mr. Steve Petra and the elementary principal is Mr. Matthew Cox.

Before 2005 the school's leader was Mr. Robert Schaecher, who retired after serving twenty-one years as headmaster.
