Antony Andrewes

Antony Andrewes (born 1910, died 1990) was a classical scholar and historian. He was born in Tavistock, Devon, England, and was educated at Winchester College, Winchester (1923-29), and at New College, Oxford (1929-33). He was a Fellow of Pembroke College, Oxford (1933-46) and of New College, Oxford (1946-53) and was Wykeham Professor of Ancient History from 1953 until his retirement in 1977. He died in June 1990.
