Antonio Matarrese

Antonio Matarrese (1940) is an Italian manager of football and was an Italian deputate of DC (1976-1994).

He was Bari Calcio's president (1977/1983) and president of Italian League of Serie A and B (1982/1987).

In November 1987 was nominated president of FIGC; in that period he nominated Arrigo Sacchi CT of Italy in 1991, after the match game with Soviet Union and was elected number 2 of FIFA (1994/2002) and UEFA (1992/2002 but he was an UEFA's member from 1988).

After UEFA Euro 1996 Matarrese leave FIGC and in 2002 was nominated number 2 of Lega Calcio (president was Adriano Galliani). In 2004 was nominated president of UNIRE, but it falled in 2005.

At August 8, 2006 he was nominated president of Italian League of Football, after 4 years of Adriano Galliani's management.
