Antonio Gonzalez Middle School is a middle school located in the eastern portion of Laredo, Texas and is a part of the United Independent School District. Enrollment at Gonzalez Middle school is estimated to be about 600+ students. The location of this school is right next to the UISD SAC field and a block away from State Highway 359. The school was built in order to relieve the heavy enrollment of United South Middle School in 2001. Due to the heavy increase of neighborhood development around this area of Laredo in the past few yers, AGMS is expected to see a higher number of new students attending this school than before in the near future.
[edit] Standardized Dress
Starting in the 2006-2007 school year, students are required to follow standardized dress code provided by the district.
The Texas Education Agency specified that the parents and/or guardians of students zoned to a school with uniforms may apply for a waiver to opt out of the uniform policy so their children do not have to wear the uniform. Parents must specify "bona fide" reasons, such as religious reasons or philosophical objections.
[edit] Feeder Schools
Feeder elementary schools include:
- Cuellar Elementary School
- Judith Zaffirini Elementary School
