Antonio Castaneta

Don Jose Antonio Castañeta (?? - 1718) (alternatively Antonio de Gaztañeta) was a Spanish Vice-Admiral who commanded the Spanish Mediterranean fleet at the Battle of Cape Passaro against the Great Britain on August 11, 1718 off the coast of Sicily. Castañeta's fleet was decisively defeated and the admiral died later that year.
