Antonia of Balzo

Antonia of Balzo (c. 1355 - 23 January 1374) was the second Queen consort of Frederick III the Simple.

Antonia was a daughter of Francis of Baux, Duke of Andria and his second wife Marguerite of Taranto.
Her maternal grandparents were Philip I of Taranto and Catherine II of Valois, Princess of Achaea.
[edit] Marriage
On 17 January 1372, Antonia married Frederick III the Simple. The bride was approximately seventeen years old and the groom thirty-one. He had a daughter from a previous marriage but no male heirs.
However Antonia died childless after only two years of marriage. Frederick never remarried and died in 1377. He was succeeded by his only daughter Mary of Sicily.
