Antoni Stankiewicz JCD (b. 1 October 1935) is a Polish Roman Catholic Bishop and Dean of the Sacred Roman Rota.
He was born in Oleszczenice Poland. He studied for and was ordained to the priesthood on 20 December 1958 at the age of 23. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 31 January 2004 as Dean of Roman Rota within the Roman Curia. It was not until 15 November 2006 that he was selected to be a titular bishop with the see of Nova Petra. On the 16 December 2006 he was Ordained Bishop by Cardinal Bertone.
As Dean of the Rota Stankiewicz oversees the Rota's main function, which is that of a third instance appellate tribunal.
The Rota mainly reviews decisions of lower courts but dominating its case load are marriage annulment cases due to the increased civil divorce rates among Catholics, but it hears non-administrative cases in any area of canon law also.
