Antioch Center is an enclosed shopping mall located in Kansas City North, Missouri, United States. The mall opened in 1956, and was once home to the first location for Show Biz Pizza, a pizzeria chain that would later become known as Chuck E. Cheese's.[1]
Currently, Antioch Center is a dead mall, with only five tenants remaining, including the two anchor stores, Burlington Coat Factory and Sears. Because of the mall's high vacancy rate, it is slated for redevelopment.[2]

The mall opened as an outdoor shopping center in 1956 as an open-air mall, with about 80 store spaces on a single level. [3][4]. In 1974, a Sears store was added;[3] further expansion came in 1978, when the mall was enclosed.[5] Macy's was an original anchor store; it was converted to Burlington Coat Factory in the 1980s after being a Dillard's for a short time. Other anchor stores that operated at the mall included Levitz Furniture, as well as Payless Cashways, a home improvement store.[6][7]
Recently, however, the mall has seen a high rate of vacancy. The mall contains about 5 stores at the time. As a result, plans have been approved to rebuild the dying mall as a 450,000 square foot strip mall consisting of several big box stores.[8][9]
Currently, only Sears and Burlington Coat Factory remain as anchor stores in Antioch Center.
